I. OBJECTIVES:

1. Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

Revise the language to talk about personal information and write a description about their friends or other people.

2. Knowlege:

* Grammar: How to write a passage.

3. Skills: Writing and speaking

II. PREPARATION:

1. Teacher: Lesson plan, Textbook, Teacher’s book

2. Students:

  • Textbook, notebook.
  • Study the way to write a passage.

III. PROCEDURES:

1. Checking: (5’) Asks one student to answer some questions about their friends: ?What is your friend/s name/ How old is she/ he?/Where does she/he like?/ What does she/he look like?...

2. New lesson:

*) Lead-in: (1’)

T: You want to introduce or talk about your close friend to others. What will you talk about?

T: intrduces the tasks of the lesson.

I. PRE-WRITING: (14’)

1. Comprehension questions (Part 1-P.15)

- Asks Ss to read the text and read through the Form.

- Elicits the used language and hangs on the questions, explains: What is he like?

- Asks the questions to make the model and then asks Ss to work in pairs.

- Invites three pairs to ask and answer to the front.

2. Fill in the Form. (Part 2-P.15)

- Hangs on the Form, elicits the used language again and makes the model.

- Asks Ss to work in pairs, asking and answering to fill the information of their close friend in the Form.

- Goes round to help Ss and correct if necessary

II. WHILE-WRITING: (10’)

Write -it – up (part 3-P.15)

- Gives the model and asks Ss to write the paragragh (60-80 words), using the information in their Form.

- Notes: appearance, character

- Goes round to help Ss.

- Asks Ss to compare their draft with their patner

III. POST-WRITING: (10’) Exhibition

- Asks 2 Ss to go to the B.B and write the paragraghs about their friends.

- Asks the whole to give comments and compare with their results.

- Has them to correct their work.

- Listen to teacher and answer the question.

- Read it individually and share their ideas about the Form in pairs.

- Make the questions with the Form and read through the questions.

- Make the model with teacher and then ask and answer the questions in pairs.

- Practice the laguage.

*) Possible questions:

1, What is his name?

2, How old is he?

3,Where does he live?

4, Who does he live with?

5, What does he look like?

6, What is he like?

7, Who are her best friends?

- Copy it and make the questions basing the tittle in the Form.

- Ask and answer the questions and fill in the information about their friends.

- Work with teacher to correct themselves.

- Follow teacher, using their own information to write it individually.

- Focus on the way to use it.

- Compare their draft with their friends and correct if neccessary.

- Present their work on the B.B

- Share and compare their work.

- Correct with teacher.

Example:

My close friend is Trang. She is thirteen years old. She is fat and she has short black hair....................................

* Consolidation: (3’)

Asks some Ss to go to the front of the class and introduce their close friend with the class, using their writing task.

IV. HOMEWORK: (2’)

  • Asks Ss to complete their paragraghs in notebook and do excercise 7-P.11 (workbook) at home.
  • Asks Ss to prepare: Language Focus - P.16-17
  • Revise the simple past, simple present, present continuous tense and practise further in “Enough”.
