Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 8: The first test 1

I. OBJECTIVES:

1. Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

Consolidate home vocabulary, the simple present, simple past and simple future tense, “Enough”, write their own passage.

2. Knowlege:

* Grammar: the simple present, simple past, and simple future tense.

3. Skills: Writing and reading.

II. PREPARATION:

1. Teacher: Lesson plan, Textbook, Teacher’s book

2. Students: Knowledge from unit 1 to 3, notebook.

III. PROCEDURES:

1. Warmer: (5’) Network (Groupwork)

A refrigerator

2. Content:

1. Use the right form of the verbs in parentheses (16’)

*) Exercise:

- Revises the structure and the use of the simple present, simple past and the simple future tense with be going to.

- Write their structures on the board.

- Hangs on the exercise and instructs Ss to complete them.

- Asks them to complete it in pairs.

- Gets feedback and asks the whole to correct.

- Gives the correct answers.

2. Use “ Enough” to combine two sentences into one (12’)

*) Model:

She is clever. She can get good marks.

à She is clerver enough to get good marks

- Gives the sentences and elicits the way to use Enough from Ss.

- Gives the model and checks the meaning and structure.

*) Structure:

S + be + adj+ enough +(for SO)+ to-inf

S + be + enough + noun + to-inf

- Writes the exercises on the board and asks Ss to combine them.

*) Exercise:

a. He is strong. He can carry the table

b. I have money. I can buy a lot of books

c.The weather is not cool.We can/t go out.

d. It was not warm. We couldn/t sit in the garden.

- Gets feedback and invites corrections.

3. Write a passage to describe a room in your house (10’)

- Ggives the task and asks Ss to do it individually.

- Has them to share their writing in pairs.

- Goes round to help them.

- Collects some writings and correct before class.

*) Answer key:

- Revise the meaning, use and form.

- Copy them in their books.

- Listen to T’s guides.

- Share their ideas, using the suitable tense of the verbs.

- Speak out their answers the check them with teacher

- Copy the answers.

- Write down.

- Retell the knowledge.

- Listen and write down.

- Try to combine them into one.

- Speak out the structure and the way to combine two sentences into one, using Enough.

- Listen to T’s guides and work individually to do it.

- Work in pairs and correct themselves.

- Check with teacher.

IV. HOMEWORK: (2’)

Asks Ss to revise from Unit 1 to 3 again to prepare for 45-minute test.

  • Simple present, simple past, be going to, modal verbs, Enough.
  • How to describe a person, a room.
  • Reflexive pronouns
  • Adverbs of place
