UNIT 9: MY FAMILY
Lesson 3
I. Objectives
- By the end of this unit, pupils can say, recognize and write the letter Uu and Vv.
- Pupils can recognize and say the sound /v/.
- Pupils can develop fine motor control.
II. Procedures
*Warm up: Review the known letters of the alphabet.
A. Presentation
1. Learn the letter
Step 1: Say umbrella, up, van and volcano. Pupils repeat the words.
Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the words.
Step 3: Have pupils repeat the letter and letter sound.
Step 4: Tell pupils to practice.
B. Practice
2. Sing
Step 1: Play the CD. Tell pupils to listen to the song.
Step 2: Play the CD again and pause after each line. Sing the line and tell pupils to repeat after teacher.
Step 3: Play CD again and ask pupils to sing the song.
C. Production
3. Find
Step 1: Tell pupils to find the letter u and v in the alphabet.
Step 2: Tell pupils to look at the picture at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Say umbrella, van and volcano. Check that pupils are pointing to the umbrella, van and volcano.
D. Application
- Learn a song by heart.
WEEK 30 – PERIOD 60
UNIT 9: MY FAMILY
Lesson 4
I. Objectives
- By the end of this unit, pupils can describe one’s family.
- Pupils can develop fine motor control.
II. Procedures
*Warm up: Ask pupils to draw someone from their family.
A. Presentation
1. Point and say
Step 1: Point to Tess. Check that pupils are pointing to her.
Step 2: Repeat with all the characters on the page
B. Practice
2. Sing
Step 1: Play the CD. Tell pupils to listen to the song.
Step 2: Play the CD again and pause after each line. Sing the line and tell pupils to repeat after teacher.
Step 3: Play CD again and ask pupils to sing the song.
C. Production
3. Sing and do
Step 1: Ask the pupils playing Tess to point to the appropriate flashcards during the song.
Step 2: Sing the song. Repeat with other pupils at the front.
D. Application
- Learn a song by heart.
