I. OBJECTIVES:

1. Aim: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to read and understand the appearing origins of the Christmas specials.

  • Standard: Read and fill in the table and answer the questions
  • Higher: Write a mindmap about the Christmas

2. Knowledge:

  • Vocabulary: decorate (v); custom (n); spread (v); design (v); throughout (prep); description (n); perform (v); poem (n); base (v) + on sth
  • Structures:
    • Past simple tense
    • To have someone do something (passive voice)
  • Pronunciation:

3. Skills: Reading, Speaking and writing.

II. PREPARATION:

1. Teacher: Lesson plan, text book, cassette, tape, posters, pictures.

2. Students:

  • Prepare vocabulary: decorate (v); custom (n); spread (v); design (v); throughout (prep); description (n); perform (v); poem (n); base (v) + on sth
  • Revise Past simple tense

III. PPROCEDURE:

1. Warm up: (4’)

Ask Ss to work in groups and list important festival in the world.
