I. AIMS/OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON
1. Language focus: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- know more about the distribution of population in different parts of the world
- improve listening skill for main ideas and specific information by choosing the correct answer, answer questions...
2. Skills: Listening + Speaking/Writing/Reading
3. Attitudes: Ss are eager to listen to the passage
II. PREPARATION
1. Teacher:
- Teaching aids: Lesson plan, text book

2. Students: Read Unit 7 - listening at home
III. PROCEDURE:
1. Class organization (1 minute)
2. Check – up (5 minutes) - Some Ss go to the board, talk about causes and problems of overpopulation as well as solutions to the problem
3. New lesson (35 minutes)

The population grows more quickly in some parts of the world. 3. According to the expert, the reason for a fall in the death rates is the improvement of public health service and medical care. 4. The problem population explosion causes to the world, particularly to developing countries are shortage of food, lack of hospitals and schools, illiteracy and poor living conditions. 5. The expert offered 4 solutions. They are (i) to educate people and make them aware of the danger of having more children, (ii) to provide safe, inexpensive birth-control methods, (iii) to strictly implement a family planning policy, and (iv) to exercise strict and fair reward and punishment policies. |
