II. Warmer (5’)

Jumble Words

  • Write the words whose letters are in a random order on the board.
  • Divide the class into 2 teams. Ask students from two teams go to the board and write the correct words.
  • The team which writes more correct words first wins the game.

Step 1: Presentation (12’)

Introduces the words by explaining the meaning, using the situation.

- Reads the words for the modal (3 times). Then helps SS to repeat (2 times).

- Checks S’s reading in individual & corrects the mistakes.

- Writes the words on the Bb & checks the meaning & the pronunciation

Finding friends:

- Introduces the requirements & the table then asks Ss to make sentences:

· She has green eyes. Etc…

- Asks Ss to go to the board & take note their friends appearances & Comments .

Step 2 : Practice (15’)

Dialogue Build:

- Set the scene: Mai have a new doll. Mai and Lan are talking about her doll.

- T. reads out the dialogue and writes a few key words on the board to help sts remember what the two speakers in the dialogue say to each other.

- Sts reproduce the dialogue from these board cues until it is memorized.

- Sts practice the whole thing in open pairs then in close pairs.

Mai: I have a new doll.

Lan: What color is her hair?

Mai: It's black

Lan: What color are her eyes?

Mai: They are brown

Step 3 : Production : (10’)

Picture Drill (B 3 . P 101)

- Ask students to look at the picture

(4 dolls)

- Run through all picture cues.

- T. models => sts repeat

Example:

- What color is her hair?

- It’s black.

- Teacher – Whole class.

- Open pairs => Close pairs.

- Listening to the words.

- Repeating the words in chorus & in individual.

- Correcting the mistakes.

- Giving the meaning & the pronunciation.

- Copying the words.

Making sentences:

· She has green eyes. Etc…

- Going to the board & taking note their friends appearances.

- Repeating the dialogue to remember.

- Practicing the dialogue in groups & in pairs.

- Building the dialogue.

- Correcting the pronunciation & building the dialogue.
