A. OBJECTIVES
1. Knowledge.
- By the end of the lesson, Ss can ask and answer about the time. Ask about the time of some activities (Ba and themselves)
- Review the present tense, cardinal number
- Vocab:a quarter,half past,time
- Structures: What time is it?
- What time +do/does+S+V?
2. Skillsl Using all 4 skills.
3. Education: Ps Ss have great passion for studying.

Number dictation:T reads and Ss write : one ten, fourty thirty, five twenty, three fifteen, six forty, seven forty five, ten thrirty, twelve twenty five, eleven fifty, two fifty five.

Step 1: Presentation. (12’) -Point at the clock and ask: What is this? -show new words by some menthods. The time: thời gian (example) -Ten oclock: 10 giờ đúng (trans) -half past ten: 10 giờ 30’, 10 rưỡi.(visual) -(to) be late for: trễ, muộn.(situation) -Past: qua, hơn.(trans) -Read and ask them read in chorus twice. -Call some Ss to read them again. Check: W-W Presentation dialoguge : C4 P.50.(7’) -Set the scene: Hoa meets Ba at the schoolgate. Ss listen to the dialogue between Hoa and Ba then repeat aloud. -Play the tape or read part C4 then ask them to repeat twice. -Call 2 pairs to act out. Model sentenses: S1: What time is it? Or What is the time? S2:It is eight oclock / eight fifty/ half past eight. Use: Ask and answer about the time
Step 2: Practice:(15’) * Picture drill: -Ask & answer about the timeusing a clock (with different period of time): 1.10 ; 1.30 ; 11.0 ; 9.45 ; 5.15; 8.25. … * Model: - What is the time? / What time is it? It’s two ten. - Practise asking answering about the time: T-WC; half- half; open pairs, close pairs. *Word cues drill: Run through the cues: Get up / 5.45 Go to school / 6.15
Have breakfast / 6.00 Go home / 10.00 Step 3: Further practice:(10ms)C7 -Write the answer . - Ask Ss to read C6(51) again. Ask Ss to write the answer of C7 in notebook.(about themselves) Eg: + I get up at … + I have breakfast at … +Noughts and crosses:(If have more time)
