Step 1: Presentation: (13’). - eggs: trứng - chocolates: sôcôla - oil: dầu - beef: thịt bò - soap: xà phòng - tooth paste: kem đánh răng Check voc: Matching (words and pictures)
Step 2: Practice (15’) Rub Out and Remember Dialogue A1 a) P114 - Set the scence: Mrs Vuiwants to buy some things for cooking. She is talking with the storekeeper. - T- WC; H-H; open pairs - Rub out the words while ss practice speaking. - Ask some students to fill in the gaps. - Check the words in the gaps. Picture Cue Drill (A1b on page 115) - Run through all picture cues. - T. models => sts repeat. - Teacher – Whole class. - Open pairs => Close pairs. E.g. S1: Can I help you? S2: Yes. A packet of tea, please. S1: Here you are. S2: Thank you. Pelmanism* - Prepares 16 cards with numbers on one side, the verbs on the other and makes sure the verbs are mixed. - Divides students into two teams and asks them to choose two numbers. - Turns the cards over and see if they match" a dozen - eggs", gives them one mark. If not, turns the cards over again and asks the next team. Step 3: Production (9’) Activity1: Substitution Drill - T writes the sentence on the board. - T models the sentence with a student * Teacher says: water, oil, soap, peas, beans, eggs, tea, oranges, soda. * Students say: I’d like a bottle of water, please. I’d like a bar of soap, please. |
