Bài 1

Task 1: Make sentences using the words and phrases given.

(Viết câu sử dụng từ và cụm từ cho trước)

Example:

That / bridge / look / big.

→ That bridge looks so big.

1. I / turned / to / Movie channel / because / I / wanted / watch / film.

=> I turned to the Movie channel because I wanted to watch a film. (Tôi chuyển sang kênh Movie vì tôi muốn xem phim)

2. She / loves / football / but / she / not / want / watch / football matches / TV.

=> She loves football but she doesn't want to watch football matches on TV. (Cô ấy yêu bóng đá nhưng cô ấy không muốn xem các trận bóng đá trên TV)

3. Although / the / film / late / I / will / see / it.

=> Although the film is late, I will see it (Mặc dù bộ phim bị trễ nhưng tôi sẽ xem nó)

4. You / can / read / Harry Potter / library / or / you / can / borrow / and / read / it / home.

=> You can read Harry Potter at the library or you can borrow and read it at home. (Bạn có thể đọc Harry Potter tại thư viện hoặc bạn có thể mượn và đọc nó ở nhà.)

5. Hollywood / full / movie studios / and / movie / stars.

=> Hollywood is full of movie studios and movie stars. (Hollywood có rất nhiều hãng phim và ngôi sao điện ảnh)

Bài 2

Task 2: Complete each sentence so it means the same as the sentence above.

(Hoàn thành câu sao cho nó không đổi nghĩa so với câu đã cho)

Example:

I don't have a television in my bedroom.

→ There isn't any television in my bedroom.

1. There are three interesting films on VTV3 today.

=> Today VTV3 has three interesting films. (Hôm nay VTV3 có ba bộ phim thú vị.)

2. You can visit Universal Studios where they make films in Hollywood.

=> The place where they make films in Hollywood is Universal Studios. (Nơi họ làm phim ở Hollywood là Universal Studios)

3. My favourite programme on TV is cartoons.

=> I like cartoons best on TV. (Tôi thích nhất phim hoạt hình trên TV.)

4. A man in Sri Lanka watches TV more than any other man in the world.

=> Nobody in the world has watched TV as often as a man in Sri Lanka. (Không ai trên thế giới xem TV thường xuyên như một người dân ở Sri Lanka.)

5. 99% of households in America have at least one TV.

=> Nearly all households in America have a TV. (Gần như tất cả các hộ gia đình ở Mỹ đều có TV.)

Bài 3

Task 3: Based on the information in the table, write a paragraph about the TV programme.

(Dựa vào bảng thông tin, viết một đoạn văn về chương trình TV)

For example:  

I like Cartoon Tom and Jerry on VTV1 channel. It’s on at 18:00. It’s about a cat. Its name is Tom and a little mouse. Its name is Jerry. Tom wants to catch Jerry to eat but he only hurts or competes with Jerry. I like Tom because it’s very stupid but funny and Jerry’s very intelligent and cool.

Tôi thích Cartoon Tom và Jerry trên kênh VTV1. Nó chiếu vào lúc 18:00. Nó nói về một con mèo. Tên của nó là Tom và một con chuột nhỏ. Tên của nó là Jerry. Tom muốn bắt Jerry đi ăn nhưng anh ta chỉ làm bị thương hoặc cạnh tranh với Jerry. Tôi thích Tom vì nó rất ngu ngốc nhưng hài hước và Jerry rất thông minh và tuyệt vời.
