- Relative clauses (Revision) - Ôn tập mệnh đề quan hệ
- Omission of relative pronouns - Lược bỏ đại từ quan hệ
- Ex: The woman who is wearing the T-shirt is my girlfriend.
2.2. Omission of relative pronouns (Lược bỏ đại từ quan hệ)
Ex: This is the book which I buy.
Ta thấy which là tân ngữ (chủ từ là "I", động từ là "buy"), phía trước không có phẩy hay giới từ gì cả nên có thể bỏ “which” đi ---> This is the book I buy.
- Lưu ý: Không lược bỏ đại từ quan hệ khi mệnh đề đó có chứa dấu phẩy và có giới từ phía trước đại từ.
This is my book, which I bought 2 years ago. (Mệnh đề có chứa dấu phẩy)
This is the house in which I live.
This is the man who lives near my house.
